Weekly Update:

Samantha is thriving!  She's in the smiling stage now and she smiles about everything.  I have to admit that being that she's been through so much, it's amazing to watch her learn and adapt to new things. She's is such a strong little girl (and I'm not saying that because she's mine...I'm truly impressed).

She is also in love with her Dad (he's making her smile in all the pics).  Their favorite passtime is sitting in the massage chair getting some relaxation. She will sit in the baby bouncer for a max of 15-20 minutes, but throws a fit when the massage chair stops.  Talk about a Diva in training!!  Move over Jen E.here comes Samantha Rose!!

My Aunt Janice came to town and being the shutter bug that she is she got us together for this impromptu family pic......yellow shirts were not intentional.

Sam-home one month!

Quick Summary of events:
On Friday, 2-26-2010 at 3:36am, Samantha Rose was born prematurely at 25 weeks.  She was 1lb 10ozs, 121/2 inches.

She stayed in the NICU 41/2 months before finally arriving home on July 18, 2010 at 9lbs 13.5ozs...yayyyyy!

It's taken me a month to get this blog started! It has been a huge lifestyle change for us. We were soooo NOT prepared. Especially since Sam came home on oxygen, with a feeding tube (continuous..24hr feedings), a monitor for her oxygen saturation & heart rate....and numerous therapies (pacifier dips, nebulizer treatments, inhaler treatments....so on & so forth).

Taking care of Sam is a lot of work, but we are so happy to finally have her home!  Now we can hold & hug on her as much as we want to..............talk about "spoiled rotten".....that will be Sam!
